Domaine de L'Adoux

The three-course half-board dinners were a highlight, with French and Belgian food experiences coming together in a lovely way. We also appreciated how Ilse and Peter, our Belgian hosts, helped us make the most of our time with their knowledge of local life between the Alpes and the Provence. There's something to do in any season: walking, rafting, mountain biking and cycling on hot summer days, or ski resort hopping in winter, as we did. Montclar station was a good place for beginners to get into skiing. Since the Ubaye side is only open on weekends, Ilse suggested nearby resorts. Visiting Vars-Risoul, an hour from the hotel, was a highlight, though there are other resorts much closer too. This was a personal experience that covered most of our vacation needs. We're Belgians, and the shared roots with our hosts added to the welcome. We're already excited to come back to Domaine de l’Adoux.

After time on the mountain, we enjoyed unwinding quietly at the lodge. The hosts were wonderful and clearly care about your experience. We used the pool, sauna and hammam, and enjoyed the excellent food and bar. Family friendly too.

The rooms are spacious and the beds comfortable, and the owner and staff really work to make your stay great. My wife and I had an excellent stay with great service. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Montclar, and we look forward to staying again. Thank you, Peter and staff.
