Appart'City Classic Montélimar

We found this a good-value place for a one-day stop, and the staff were friendly. The room was a decent size and worked well for our small family, though the comfort was just okay and the decor very plain. The rug was badly stained, and the pillows and mattress covers could use replacing. We didn't try breakfast. There’s secure outdoor parking for a fee. Thanks!

The breakfast was delicious, and the staff at reception could speak German and English. We stayed as a family and liked everything. Our room and the linen were clean, and we'd come back if we needed to.

We didn't get into a room until 17:30, despite check-in being at 16:00. We arrived at 15:45 and were told room 16 wasn't ready. When we asked, staff said it would take about an hour. There was no apology or offer of compensation. At 17:00 we got an email saying it was ready, but when we returned, it still wasn't. We'd been told we could have a balcony, but then they said no balcony rooms were available because room 16 wasn't ready, and that they weren't required to provide one. They sent us to another room with a sofa bed. After we pointed that out to the receptionist, they finally found us a room with a balcony. Both rooms had badly stained carpets, and the furniture and rooms were scratched up. The room wasn't very clean either. The refrigerator made an awful racket, and the air conditioning barely seemed to work even though it was set to 16 and running at full power. This is an old hotel that seems short-staffed, and its prices don't match what you can find for similar rates elsewhere. I'd avoid it. There are other places at about the same price that are cleaner, more professional, and treat customers with respect.

Breakfast was tasty and there was plenty of it. The staff were super helpful and friendly, and we had no problems. It was handy being able to get there easily from the train station since we didn't have a car.
