The generous breakfast each morning came with fresh pastries, bread, coffee and juice, and both owners were charming and spoke English fluently. They were also friendly and helpful throughout our pleasant August 2021 stay at L'Ombriere. The B&B was spotless, with quality furnishings, towels and toiletries. I especially appreciated the effective central AC in the top room. I’d worried about sweltering since France isn’t known for air conditioning, but the room stayed comfortable and I slept well. It’s conveniently placed for scenic nearby towns, with a restaurant about a 10-minute walk away. The layout may be difficult for guests with mobility issues.

The rooms and gardens made such a nice base for days out by the river and visits to castles and villages. Chloé and Grégory are kind, welcoming hosts, and the breakfasts were delicious, made with care from local and organic ingredients. L’Ombrière is beautiful, clean and comfortable, with a great location. Guests can also use a mini-kitchen with a fridge, plus what you need for coffee, tea, or putting together a picnic or salad. We hated leaving and can’t wait to come back next year!

Chloé and Grégory made sure everything was just right, and they were such warm hosts. My husband and I spent two nights at this centrally located B&B and loved the calming look of the gorgeous home, along with the delicious breakfast. We can’t wait to visit again soon!

We came all the way from Australia to elope in France and spent three nights at L'Ombriere. The beautiful house and garden made a picturesque setting for our vows, and the owners were so friendly and helpful. I’d love to come back and stay again in the years ahead.

Years later, this place still stands out as charming and gorgeous. The hosts’ graciousness, the decor, the food, the other guests and the beauty of the region all came together to make a special stay. My husband and I hope we can return soon.
