Le Jas Vieux

The garden pool was a highlight, and the gravel jeux de boules court was a nice extra. Each morning Virginie served a lovely breakfast on the outdoor terrace, with fragrant croissants, fresh fruit and artisanal products. She was warm, friendly and attentive, and her knowledge of the area helped us find good places to eat and fun things to do. The house even makes its own delicious olive oil from the groves across the street. Maison d'hôtes Le Jas Vieux was an enchanting place to stay in Haut-Provence, surrounded by blooming lavender fields. We had views of the charming village of Montfort and the mountains on one side, and Rochers des Pénitents on the other. Our room was spacious, elegantly decorated in Provençal style and had everything we could want. The large bathroom was a welcome luxury, and everything was spotless and well kept. We were also glad to find chilled drinks available from the kitchen refrigerator. With its beautiful rooms, refreshing pool, thoughtful hospitality and lovely surroundings, it’s an idyllic retreat. Highly recommended!

I liked being able to use the kitchen ourselves. The owner was really helpful and spoke good English, and the old farmhouse sits among lavender fields.

The host was amazing, and it was a terrific place to stay. Highly recommend.
