I’d noticed the hotel on an earlier trip because it looked centrally located. That location can be a problem on Tuesdays, when the whole center closes for market day. I know it’s only rated three stars, but the room felt really run down and unpleasant, with missing shower tiles and a generally grubby feel. If it had just been basic, that would’ve been fine. Breakfast was a hard pass. It cost too much for what it was, and afterward I felt unwell. The food was all very basic, so I’ve no idea why. Luckily, I only ate it once during my stay. There aren’t many affordable options in Vaison, but I won’t stay at this hotel again.

We ended up staying nine nights, adding two to our original seven because we enjoyed it so much. We were with our eight-month-old, who got lots of attention and cuddles from the very friendly owner and staff. There was a baby chair and a safe terrace for him to play on. We brought our own cot, though the hotel has them too. It was our first visit since the hotel changed owners, after several years of coming here, so we wondered if it would be the same. No need to worry. The hotel has made some changes, including a buffet breakfast with plenty to choose from, from bacon and eggs to bread, cheese, fruit, and cakes. Rooms and the reception and bar are being renovated. Our room hadn’t been done yet, and we’re curious to see it when it’s finished. Some work was happening during our stay, but we weren’t bothered by noise or disruption. The terrace is lovely for breakfast, or for a drink in the afternoon or evening, with the lively town square nearby but a calm atmosphere. The bar also has a nice range of locally brewed beers. We had a lovely stay and are definitely planning to return next year!

The room was pleasant, with a modern Art Deco interior, high ceilings, and a view of a narrow street. It was a large room on the top floor, though getting there meant quite a few narrow stairs, which would be difficult with huge suitcases. The check-in staff were friendly and prompt, and showed us to the room. The location downtown was great, with one unloading spot out front if it wasn’t occupied. Parking is limited, but there is free parking around town. Take your valuables with you. In the middle of the night, the internet and air conditioning stopped working because of some kind of electrical problem, and they stayed off until morning. When I mentioned it to someone who seemed to be in charge, no effort was made to fix it early on, and nothing had been resolved by checkout.

We had a lovely stay, my husband, our dog, and I. The welcome was friendly and the room was great. We loved having morning coffee on the Hotels sunny terrace overlooking the square. The location is perfect, and the Tuesday market was amazing. Can’t wait to stay again :)

The staff were brilliant and couldn’t have been more helpful. The German lady on morning shifts especially went above and beyond. It’s a nice hotel in a great location, with good facilities and a lovely terrace for breakfast. My only small gripe was the bathroom. There was no screen or curtain on the shower, so it was hard to keep water off the floor. A minor annoyance in an otherwise fabulous stay.
