Studios les Iris

We arrived to find the three-bedroom apartment in a deplorable state. The two children's rooms felt more like death traps than bedrooms. There were dozens of dead animals on the floor, the stairs were extremely dangerous for children, the place smelled strongly of cigarettes, there were bugs in the duvets, and hair all over the shower and bathtub. We turned around straight away because we couldn’t stay in those conditions, especially at that price. The owner refused a refund, and Booking.com did too, saying they couldn’t act without the owner’s agreement. This person is dishonest and clearly only in it for the money. Avoid this place at all costs. I can’t understand how anyone can rent it out at that price. SHAMEFUL.

The owner even helped us out with jumper cables, thanks 😉. The welcome was super friendly, and everything we needed for a short stay was there. There was one small issue that could be a real problem for some people: the Wi-Fi didn’t work at all. We managed perfectly well without it, though.

The best part was the location. We’d planned a weekend reunion with friends, swimming and a barbecue, and it sounded perfect. On arrival, though, the owner told us the pool had an algae invasion, and we found a hole in the bottom of the barbecue. The outdoor photos look lovely, but things haven’t been maintained much since they were taken. Mowing once a month isn’t enough, and the plants, flower beds, and outdoor furniture need attention too. The furniture is very worn, and the picnic table probably won’t make it through another winter. It must once have been an exceptional place, but there’s been a lot of neglect.

The studio was comfortable, very clean, and in a handy location. We really enjoyed having the pool. The bathroom is a little dated, though. The sink sits extremely low, and a shower door would be a nice improvement.
