The best thing about this place is its location. Les grottes de Lascaux II are very near and worth visiting. We ended up here as a last resort after our Home Away reservation in Sarlat was totally messed up, and took the last weekly rental available. It was without a doubt the worst apartment we’ve ever encountered. We hadn’t realized we needed to bring everything, including sheets, towels, and kitchen basics such as normal sized coffee cups, sponges, pot holders, dish rags, and dish towels. You can rent sheets, bath towels, and pool towels, and there is a nice pool, but expect many children since this is mainly a family resort. We weren’t aware of the extra costs: sheets, bath towels, pool towels, TV, WIFI, and cleaning all cost extra. Reception is closed Wednesday, and otherwise has limited hours, 9-12 and 5 to 7:30 weekdays. The female manager was very good and promptly sorted out problems we had with the TV and electricity. I wouldn’t recommend the place unless you’re willing to bring your own cleaning supplies, linens, and so on.

The internet wasn’t good, unfortunately, and there’s no place on site to get a meal, so you have to go out to eat. The pool closes at 19 h, which felt very early when there’s nothing else to do. We had trouble with the hot water in the shower for two nights and the following mornings, and we had a baby with us. Guests have to carry all their bed and bath linen in a heavy bag from the apartment to reception. I’m 75 and my daughter had recently had surgery after giving birth, but they made no exception and weren’t kind when we raised it. At 11, the checkout time, the manager practically kicked us out and showed very little understanding. In my opinion people want somewhere calm and relaxing, and we expected more empathy. The apartment had no high chair for small children. The play area had no swings, just two toys. The sauna had a lot of hair and poor hygiene, and it costs extra. Reception is closed from 12 to 16, so guests who want to do something have to wait for it to reopen.

A lovely cottage with good amenities, and the pool was pleasant. It’s a beautiful residence for a peaceful vacation. Parking is at the entrance to the development, and cars aren’t allowed inside. The terrace is too exposed to public view, though; a small hedge in front of each one would be a plus. Dogs are allowed, but the €100 charge for them seems a bit excessive.
