ibis budget Saint Quentin en Yvelines Velodrome

The breakfast was a decent start to the day, with fresh croissants, bagels and coffee. For around €70 a night, this ibis Budget in Versailles was good value. The room was compact, as you'd expect at a budget hotel, but clean and comfortable enough for a short visit. There was a €10 tourist tax for two people. The railway station is about 1 km away, walkable but less convenient with heavy luggage, and there aren't many restaurants nearby, so plan meals ahead, especially in the evening. It's a simple, no-frills place I'd consider using again if I wanted clean, reliable accommodation and didn't mind walking. There was no water bottle in the room.

We were pleasantly surprised by how spacious the rooms were for three people. We had worried they'd be too small, and our 6-year-old loved having the bed above ours. The hotel was quiet and peaceful even when full, and it was clean, with daily room cleaning and fresh towels each day. Breakfast always included fresh croissants, bread, cheese, coffee and soft drinks. We booked parking through the Zenpark app, though it can also be arranged at the hotel. We stayed for 3 nights/4 days. Thanks to everyone who made it such a nice stay.

The car park is underneath the hotel, which was really convenient and cost only 5 Euro for a night. The Versailles castle is nearby, and there's also a shopping centre where you can get food. It's easy to reach, and the room was simple, functional and clean, just what you'd expect from a IBIS.

The fire alarm woke me first at 3:30 am and then again at 6:00 am. After the first alarm, the staff never announced that it was safe to return to the room, so I had to ask. The second time, the alarm simply stopped and they said, "Sorry, false alarm". The worst night ever. Never again!
