The room felt cold and awkward, with little warmth or passion around the food. I was surprised this was a one Michelin star restaurant, given the mistakes and the lack of enthusiasm. Vincent chose excellent wine pairings, and the service was polite, but the staff seemed apathetic and inattentive. I told them I was unhappy while paying, and nothing changed. We’d loved our visit in 2018 with Christophe Haye and came back hoping to experience Nicolas Aubry’s cooking. I really wanted to love it, which made the disappointment all the harder.

Really good food, and the service was impeccable. The chef is talented and very nice, and so are the waiters. Highly recommend it!

Our waiter suggested some lovely wines for the meal, and the lunch itself was wonderful. The whiting was beautifully cooked with herb mousseline and cabbage rolls. Before that, we had what may be the best vegetarian entrée I’ve ever tasted: zucchini in every form, from mousse and tartare to purée and coulis. We finished with a light vanilla soufflé and refreshing elderflower sorbet. The amuse-bouches included our favourite, asparagus mousse, followed by onion tarte tatin, plus a flaky bun with sea salt and lime zest. We’d booked at very short notice after reading good reviews, and the woman on the phone was so friendly and helpful. We loved it and highly recommend it.

My husband and I travel all over to try food, and we’re not easily impressed. This place blew us away. We’ll definitely come back.

The service was stellar, and the team explained every dish in perfect English. We had the five-course dinner, with a thoughtfully put together menu that was delicious and fresh in its flavours. The wine pairing was a nice surprise too, with distinctive wines from several French regions. A great experience.
