Our hotel is located in the immediate vicinity of the Writing and Book Profession centre and the banks of the River Gartempe. All of our bedrooms are air-conditioned. Our gastronomic restaurant, Le Lucullus, proposes a range of lively and inventive dishes, always in tune with the seasons, served in an elegant setting that is warm and cosy in winter and pleasantly air-conditioned in summer. The location is very good, and the people were nice enough, but the price felt ridiculous for what the hotel offers. It has the dated look and feel of a two star hotel and needs serious modernization. The bed's mattress was comfortable and clean, and all the shower faucets worked exceptionally well. The floor seemed clean, but looked so old and out of date that putting my feet on it felt unsettling. For the cost, it was completely overpriced, especially when houses for rent at around 50 are generally new, modern, and clean.

We had a memorable meal at the Bistro on a Sunday night. The menu was simple, but the cooking and flavours were sophisticated. Make a point of eating here, it's well worth the trip.

The lunchtime menu is great value, and the decor is lovely too. Staff were smiley, helpful, and quick. We're lucky to have such a fabulous place to eat in montmorillon. The evening restaurant is wonderful as well, though it's not budget priced. The quality makes it worth it.
