It’s tucked around a corner, so easy to miss, but the upstairs is entirely devoted to English books. One of the many second-hand bookshops in Montolieu, and the place to head if you’re after books in English.

We keep coming back to this bookstore. The owner is passionate and always welcoming, and the selection is fantastic: esoteric books, fiction, classics, music, poetry, plus antique and art books. There’s a whole floor of foreign books, and bandes dessinées pour Les français au premier etage. It’s our go-to bookstore in the region, and being in gorgeous Montolieu makes it even more of a treat. The village is a must-visit in the Carcassonne region.
