Ibis budget Montpellier Millènaire

The hotel was comfortable and well looked after, and the staff were exceptionally kind and helpful throughout our visit. It’s conveniently close to Montpellier Sud-de-France Gare station. We had a very pleasant stay and would happily stay here again.

We were disturbed early in the morning when staff tried to enter our room, even though we’d put up the “dont disturb” sign. As the name suggests, it’s a budget motel, but it’ll do for a couple of days. The price for what you get isn’t bad.

There was so little room that we couldn’t even open three suitcases. The beds were side by side with no space between them, and I had to crawl into my spot. I don’t recommend it. I also left behind a bag of groceries: there was nowhere to put it except behind the door, and when I left, the door hid it from view so I forgot it in the room.

The manager’s response and the good work of the other staff stopped us from giving the hotel an even lower rating, but one employee’s behavior was completely unprofessional and spoiled our mood. I think guests should not be treated this way, and employees who act like that should be fired. The night before arriving at 6 in the morning, I wrote to ask whether we could leave our luggage. The hotel said we couldn’t, but that we could pay extra to check in that morning and sort it out on the spot. When we arrived, a nice woman at reception let us have breakfast with our child and leave our bags for an extra fee. There were no rooms free yet, so we couldn’t check in early. An hour later, another employee took over. She was rude, threw papers on the table, argued with a colleague and spoke to us as if we were children, saying we’d done something wrong. All we wanted was to leave our suitcase while we went to a medical conference. She insisted that Ibis hotels don’t allow luggage storage and never have a place for it. I’ve stayed at Ibis hotels in different European countries around 10 times, and we’ve always been able to leave our luggage without any problem. Instead, we had to go to our work conference with our suitcases.
