Student Factory Montpellier Sud

The room itself was filthy when I arrived. My parents were appalled to find old trash still under the fridge, and the fridge wasn’t even plugged in, which made the place feel unprepared for my arrival. The shower has no enclosure, so you have to bring your own rack and curtain. I also didn’t get a proper tour from the woman in the office, and I couldn’t work out where the bin room was for days. Other students had the same issue. The common area was clean, but its hours were recently cut off at 23:00. If you’re at school from 8:00-22:00, there’s barely any time left to use it. The laundry room smells strongly, possibly like sewage, and the water has been shut off repeatedly. Each repair takes at least five hours, and sometimes the outage lasts overnight. As an exchange student, I wouldn’t recommend living here. For this price, you could find somewhere better with facilities like a gym and a separate movie room. This is a terrible student accommodation.

Two weeks before I was supposed to move to France, Student Factory emailed to say there were no rooms available and my application had been cancelled. They’d previously told me an accommodation offer was guaranteed, so I was left scrambling to book private housing at a ridiculous last minute. Since then, I’ve sent three separate emails and they haven’t answered any of them. Disgraceful.

I spent a few days in one of the studios. It was clean, pleasant, and had the basic things I needed. Check-in and checkout were both easy.

Julien gave us a really nice welcome. The place is lovely, especially the shared areas.
