Le Prieuré Saint Rémy

The family suite was spacious, with a little private sitting room and three comfortable bedrooms, and the house had been decorated with real care. We also loved relaxing in the outdoor jacuzzi by the medicinal herb garden. This is a lovely base for visiting Beauvais, about fifteen minutes away, as well as Gerberoy and Chantilly. The welcome made the visit special. Our hostess showed us around the grounds and shared some history of the 12th-century priory, then offered cakes that my three children loved. She also gave us advice about exploring the area, which we followed. Breakfast was superb, with fresh bread and cakes, fruit, cold cuts, cheeses, cereals, locally sourced juice, and plenty of organic products. The owner's daughter runs a horse farm nearby, and there are lovely grounds where you can practice qigong by yourself or with family. Special mention for Valérie's shiatsu massage on the grass, with birds singing. Thank you, Madame Fremaux. We wish we could have stayed longer, but even that 24-hour break did us a world of good.

The owner warmly shares her love for this exceptional cottage, and her welcome adds to the calm and serenity of a place full of history. A magical setting. I highly recommend it.

It really is a beautiful place, though the windows make me think it could get very, very cold in winter. We also had concerns about privacy with the person managing it, who could turn up at any time to check on who knows what. Such a shame, because the place itself is truly beautiful.

We stayed at the priory for five days with friends. It was beautifully looked after, with plenty of open space for children to enjoy. The atmosphere was so calming, a real haven of peace with good vibes ;-)
