Le Kleber

The hotel is a bit far from the city centre, but the nearest metro is only two minutes away, and the neighborhood is quiet. It’s good value for money. Rooms are consistently clean, with fresh towels available daily. The croissants, pain-au-chocolat, French bread and butter at breakfast are good. The walls are thin, so you can hear people in nearby rooms and the hallways. Reception staff are okay, but speak limited English and always seem annoyed when you ask them something. There are no lifts, so be ready to carry your luggage upstairs.

The metro is a big plus: Croix des Chavaux is a two-minute walk away, with good, quick connections to central Paris and beyond. There’s free Wi-Fi too. The room was very basic and poorly maintained, with silverfish and other insects. The bathroom was tiny and moldy. We were given only one towel for a double room, and housekeeping completely forgot to replace the towels on the second night. There was no hairdryer. The walls and door were very thin, the door lock was broken, and there are no lifts. Staff were quite rude and had a bad attitude.

The little cafe downstairs was handy for our morning coffee. They also serve breakfast if you ask, and let us warm up our food there. The rooms seemed good value for the price, and the metro nearby makes it easy to get around. The station is croix chavaux on Metro 9, and it’s in zone 1, so the zone pass works too. Staff were very nice, kind and helpful.

The second floor gets very hot, and there’s no air conditioning, just a cheap fan. The window was broken, the bed was old and uncomfortable, and the rooms are very close together with thin walls, so there was a lot of noise. There was mold in the bathroom.
