We felt unwelcome from the start. It was raining, so we hoped to have coffee in the veranda with a view, then stay for lunch. We tried speaking a little French, and asked if we could sit there; we were told yes, but no one explained whether that was okay or when the restaurant would open. The disdainful expressions made us really uncomfortable. “Au revoir, monsieur.” In response to the reply: there was a sign outside saying ‘we are open, come in’, otherwise we wouldn’t have entered. We also asked and were told yes. Please be more open to people who appreciate your area and want to spend money at your business, instead of judging their appearance or how little of your language they speak. Just a tip for future business, Monsieur.

The traditional Morvan feel is really pleasant, and everything looked spotlessly clean. We haven't stayed in the hotel, but had a lovely restaurant visit, with a view across the park from the veranda. The food is delicious, especially the mousse au chocolat, which is a must. The owner is also a first class chocolatier, and the chocolate is organic and ethical. Go enjoy a meal or snack there.

The rooms and en suites were immaculate and easily deserved five stars. Our family of four stayed one night on the way to Morzine, and this charming, quirky place was a real gem. It has a calm atmosphere surrounded by glorious green nature, with Lake de Settons just a stone's throw away. We ate on the attractive terrace, where the delicious food was plentiful, locally sourced, and great value. The owner's passion for the iconic motorcycle marque Moto Guzzi is fascinating. Memorabilia is displayed around the hotel, and there's a dedicated cafe downstairs. The chef's homemade chocolates are another treat, with a rich selection available to buy on site. Do try Les Grillons de Morvan, it's memorable!

We only stopped for a quick sandwich outside regular meal hours, and it was delicious. The place seems to have some great dishes, too. There was a good choice of local beer and some nice chocolate options.

We had a great weekend here, with comfortable rooms, nice views, and lovely food. The service was great, too.
