La Grange de Jeanne

We stumbled across this place by chance and ended up loving it. The gite is beautifully done and spotless, perfect for two and with room for a young child or two. We spent a lot of time at the kitchen table and relaxing in the spa bath after exploring. The owner is a sweetheart, and she bakes delicious cakes. The village is very quiet, so it’s a great spot to slow down and recharge. There isn’t much to do in Moosch itself: there are a couple of rather pricey restaurants and an automatic pizza dispenser, and the church is worth a look, but you’ll really need a car. The apartment has plenty of information leaflets with ideas for activities and places to visit. For a nearby outing, Cascade du Bubalafels is a little waterfall in the woods. It’s worth a visit, and you can walk there if you’re fit; otherwise, drive and park by the little wooden bridge. If you like cycling and walking, the surrounding countryside is gorgeous. The train track nearby didn’t bother us for long. There are two trains an hour, but they aren’t high speed and don’t run through the night, and we soon stopped noticing them. There’s also a washing machine in the cupboard with the sliding door at the top of the stairs. We only found it as we were leaving, and it hadn’t been advertised. 😂
