Dinner felt like watching a performance, and a good one. The team moved around the room like ballet dancers, clearly well-practised. Each meal was thoughtfully put together and executed without a flaw. People call everything an “experience” these days, but here it really fits.

The dining room is beautifully appointed, and the food has that classic French formal style. I still remember the foie gras. Service was a little slow for us, though maybe that’s just the French way!

The rooms were adequate, and the heating seemed suited to the preferences of the older clientele. What really stood out was the restaurant and service, which went well beyond what I expected from a quaint, old-style hotel. The staff were attentive, patient, hardworking, and friendly. They deserve bonuses! It felt like high-end city service in a small local inn. Delightful. I’ll come back whenever I can.

We’d definitely return, and might even book a room next time. We were grateful to have the restaurant recommended to us because it turned out even nicer than expected. The staff were warm, polite, and knowledgeable, and the food surpassed expectations. Everything on the menu is homemade, with a creative touch and local ingredients. It was also open on a Monday evening, when the other places nearby seemed to be closed.
