The team really helped us out when one of our group got hurt on the piste, bringing him food and helping him get around the hotel. Service was thoughtful throughout our stay. We arrived early and still got a room, restaurant bookings and spa access were sorted, and both rooms were clean, comfortable and fresh. Only one had a balcony, but we could all use that space together. The hotel is right by a great ski hire shop and is truly ski in, ski out. We had a great stay, thanks for looking after us.
Even though we got in late on our first evening, the staff had already booked us a dinner table. Everyone was so welcoming, and the food and views were amazing. The hotel and rooms are beautiful too. We had a lovely stay and would happily recommend it.
The fireplace in the lounge used to be one of the best things to enjoy after skiing. Avoriaz is an iconic resort, and Hotel des Dromonts was the architectural masterpiece that set the style for the whole place. Now there’s a cheap plastic fake-flame device that looks like it came from Temu. Shame, and an absolute disgrace. I’m a regular, and this is the third year the fireplace hasn’t worked. Every year I asked reception and got the same explanation about technical chimney problems. Once, an employee let slip that it was “too expensive.” The plastic flames only appeared this season. I don’t believe it takes three years to inspect or restore a chimney. This looks like management cutting costs, so please just be honest. I also gave negative feedback about the restaurant last year. I was told they’d pass it on to management, but nothing changed. Please bring this jewel of a hotel back to the standard it deserves.
We came back for a second stay after a good first visit, this time with family and four rooms over New Year. The reception staff were lovely and incredibly helpful, but the rest was a letdown. Dinner took three hours, getting a drink was nearly impossible, and bar service stopped at 10. The New Year’s Eve “special” meal was almost inedible and so slow we thought we’d miss the midnight fireworks. The hot tub was cold, and there were no massage staff during what you'd expect to be the busiest time of year. I’ve emailed the hotel twice and heard nothing. I don’t know what changed between February and December 2025, but something needs fixing. It might work for bed and breakfast, but I wouldn’t come back for more.
We stopped by for a deep tissue massage with Jean and another therapist whose name I’m sorry I’ve forgotten. We weren’t staying at the hotel, but booked the visit to celebrate our engagement, and it was a perfect end to a week of skiing. We both felt great and re-energized afterwards. We arrived an hour early so we could use the spa first. There’s an outdoor hot tub with lovely views, a sauna, plus a steam room and another sauna inside. The gym is basic but handy. Complimentary detox water and pastries were available, along with the menu. Everyone was friendly and accommodating. Thank you!
