Le Vieux Four

The restored old house has been done with care, right down to the details, and each room has its own look and feel. It’s a lovely place to stay, with a warm, unpretentious welcome that feels a bit like home. The food is a real highlight. They make everything on site with local ingredients, and the small menu changes every two weeks. I’d happily recommend it.

We had a lovely table and good service on the charming shaded terrace. The wine suggestions were good, too. The food had a creative touch from fresh herbs and spices, and everything we tried was delicious: brandade, stuffed zucchini blossoms, and a really indulgent gourmet coffee. The bull meat was a great discovery.

The evening meal was bursting with flavor, and I think the Michelin Guide should stop here. The young waiter was fantastic, too. It’s a peaceful, relaxing place, and we’ll be back soon. Thank you, Mr. and Mrs. Crouvoisier, for all your hard work. The rooms were spotless and very spacious, with comfortable beds. The manager gave us a warm welcome, and the Provençal building has old-world charm with tasteful decor. Gérard and Jacques.

We had a wonderful dinner in the courtyard, with a Brazilian band playing that evening and adding a lovely sense of warmth and soul. The Denis room was beautifully decorated, especially the tree standing proudly in the room, and the bed was particularly comfortable. There’s also an inviting spot for reading, and breakfast was excellent. Arrival is limited to a partly fixed time slot, which can feel restrictive. We understand why, given how much work the owners put in as a couple. An enchanting evening, and we highly recommend it.
