Camping Le Vieux Colombier

Big trees give the large pitches plenty of shade, though there are smaller ones too. The sanitary facilities are clean, and there’s bread service, a mini-market, and a small bar by reception. The staff are welcoming, and you can walk to the village.

You can get to the village center on foot, and there are lovely views of the valley and mountain range. The pitches are roomy and nicely shaded. The sanitary rooms are very clean and well kept. They’ve got everything you need here, and the place is run with care. Highly recommended.

The view is amazing, and I really enjoyed my stay. The people at reception, who I think are the owners, were welcoming, kind, and helpful. There are several places of interest nearby, reachable on foot or with a 10 minute drive. The pitches are very large and each has drinking water, with trees on some for shade on hot days. The shared toilets and bathrooms, used by men and women, were probably the cleanest I’ve seen on my camping trips. The wash areas were clean too, but there was no hot water today. That’s my only complaint, though I might change my review later.

I’ve just checked in, and the owner or manager has been the friendliest and most helpful of anyone at the campsites I’ve stayed at in recent weeks. The grounds are well cared for, clean, and set up with service in mind. You can order croissants for breakfast at the counter for the next day, at a reasonable price. The person running the place has made this stay especially pleasant. I’d recommend it any time. It wins hands down.
