I woke in the night with a headache and vomited, then spent the rest of the night with the windows open, dealing with road noise and getting no sleep. I couldn't even manage breakfast. Earlier, after hiking the GTJ, I was shown a different building across the street because the host had accepted another booking despite the place having only two rooms. The room smelled awful. She said it had been empty for three month. I waited an hour for the water to heat before showering, then went back to the chambres d'hôtes to complain. She checked and decided the smell wasn't so bad anymore. The host insisted this was normal, said she was being very nice, and treated me as unreasonable for expecting the advertised room.

We were well looked after by Véronique while on the GTJ (Grande Traversée du Jura), and the welcome was really warm. The rooms are cozy, and we were spoiled with an excellent meal and breakfast. Thanks for the lovely time with our host and the Breton team 😉. Thanks again, I highly recommend it.

The picnic lunch was clearly put together with cyclists in mind: tomatoes, sandwiches, cereal bars, dates, and a few peanuts. Dinner was hearty, delicious, and made with local ingredients, just what we needed after a day riding. We shared it with another couple of cyclists, so be sure to mention your bikes when booking. Breakfast was varied and plentiful too. During our gravel bike tour, we found the rooms at Auberge de la Chaumière clean, tastefully decorated, and full of typical mountain character. The host was attentive, and we also watched the fireworks on the hills above Mouthe on August 15th from the lounge with her. A great stay, thank you.

A generous breakfast and very good meals, along with an excellent welcome. This is a pleasant bed and breakfast in Mouthe, suited to couples as well as small groups.

Dinner was homemade, just right, and made with local ingredients. The homemade jam at breakfast gave me what I needed for the journey, and my night was comfortable and the place spotless. We were warmly welcomed at La Chaumière, a charming place with tasteful decor, while traveling as a couple on the GTJ (Grande Traversée du Jura). We chose half-board and have no regrets. I really enjoyed the friendly atmosphere and sharing with the other hikers. I'll definitely come back. See you soon! Gérald
