The area around the hotel doesn't have much in it, though a walk nearby is still pleasant. Inside, the classic decor makes a strong impression, and the lobby looks attractive. Our room was clean and fairly spacious, and the staff were friendly. Breakfast was simple but acceptable.

We've stayed in Mulhouse many times, and finding this hotel was a real treat. We arrived very late because of delays at San Gottard, but the night staff were great and helped us find secure parking. Late checkout meant we could have breakfast in bed before heading back to the U.K. Lovely staff and a great art deco theme. I don't know why the reviews are so low.

I got there at about 3:30 in the morning, freezing and exhausted. The doorman came to the intercom within a couple of minutes and was about to open the door when a woman's voice came through saying, “c’est complet” (the hotel is full). The doorman immediately looked shocked, and I took that to mean the woman, probably a manager, had refused to do her job and help a traveler. It was off season, the city was quiet, and the hotel looked huge with plenty of empty rooms, so I'd thought it would be a safe place. I would never go there again. Shame on them.

The breakfast buffet was unusually good for France, and the room was quite large. I can't say whether I'd been quietly upgraded. The hotel's looks, cleanliness, and location were all top notch.

The location was good, and the nights were very quiet. We found the staff lovely, and they really made us feel welcome. There's secure underground parking just around the corner, which was a bonus. The air conditioning was quiet and worked well. The hotel has 1920s art deco charm, with many original features in the bathroom, and a mini fridge in the bedroom. Breakfast was quite pricey, though booking directly with the hotel may make it free, double check because I could be wrong. The bar and restaurant weren't open during our midweek stay.
