La Maison Mulhouse Centre

The staff were warm and welcoming, and a special thanks to the kind lady who served a really nice breakfast. Our room was spacious and nicely furnished. The mattress and pillows were especially good, which isn’t always the case in hotels.

It was a small room, but just right for us and very clean. It could get a bit hot in summer. Lovely staff and a great location.

The room had an unpleasant smell, maybe from the carpet, and when we stayed in December it was cold because the heating didn’t do much. The location is handy, close to the Christmas markets and about a 10-minute walk from the train station, and breakfast was good. It was an average stay, and I wouldn’t choose it again.

The hotel is right in the centre, so it’s easy to walk straight into town. Everything else made for a stay we’d rather forget. We booked La Maison Hotel on our way back from Italy to the Netherlands because our first choice was full. This place cost much more and was much worse, and I’d give it one star. Our fourth-floor room was under a sloping roof and unbearably hot. The air conditioning was broken, and the replacement fan was broken too. The window had no safety latch, so leaving it open felt dangerous with the kids, who could’ve fallen from the fourth floor if they leaned too far out. We had to keep it shut. The shower was dirty, the room dusty, and the tap water swung between scalding and freezing with no comfortable temperature. Breakfast was hit or miss. The French bread was nice, but flies and fruit flies were all over the other fresh items, which was disgusting.
