The restaurant was a really positive surprise, with modern style and fine French cuisine from a dedicated, capable chef. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable and capable. The service was discreet and effective, and the place was clean, quiet and had all the necessary amenities. Set in a small community below a castle, l’Auberge du Chateau offers a charming glimpse of quiet rural life in the massive central region. It’s away from the main tourist trail, yet has more to offer than many heavily advertised sites. You can explore the region’s sights from here while avoiding the crowds. A hidden gem!

Dinner was elegant and outstanding, beautifully presented and delicious, with several seasonal vegetables that I especially appreciated. Our room was comfortable and simply decorated, with a new, very nice bathroom. The hosts were so friendly. This is a perfect base for exploring the fairy-tale villages and scenery around France, including Muret le Château. I’d love to come back one day.

The setting is comfortable, and the service is right on time. The food is consistently excellent, prepared by an imaginative, award-winning chef. Little details in the preparation, like a flourish of wasabi flowers, make the flavors memorable. We can’t wait to return.

The food was imaginatively presented, with interesting combinations of flavors, and our Sunday lunch was delicious. It was our first time at this wonderful restaurant in a delightful village, but we definitely hope to return soon. The staff were very friendly, and the atmosphere felt relaxed, not stuffy at all for such a high-quality place. Highly recommend.
