We’d arranged this trip well ahead and booked the gîte six months earlier, with everything paid and confirmed. Then, only 48 hours before arrival, I got a message saying there’d been a pricing error. The choices were to pay 50% more, €900 instead of €600, or cancel. We canceled, especially given how dishonest it felt. They had plenty of time to catch a billing mistake, and it’s unacceptable to put guests in that position two days before their stay. We’re very disappointed by the lack of professionalism.

We were welcomed warmly, and booking through Booking.com was easy. The woman speaks English, and her husband speaks German too. Our e-bikes could be kept in the lockable garage in the courtyard. The B&B has a lovely garden where we ate breakfast with homemade jam. We’d happily stay again if we’re back in the area. 👍

The garden breakfast, with fresh food and homemade jam made from fruit grown there, and the games for the children were lovely extras. We rented two rooms, one for one person and the other for a family of three. Both were a good size, and the family room could easily have fit four. There was parking, and getting in touch with the manager was straightforward and pleasant. Service felt personal and cheerful. It’s a little oasis in the village, and I highly recommend it. Thanks again for the warm welcome. I forgot to take photos this time 🙈

This stay was meant to be a surprise gift, and it was ruined. We’d booked through Booking.com on July 12, 2022, and the reservation was confirmed and paid. At the door, on the day and at the time we arrived, we learned by phone that the owner supposedly canceled it, saying she couldn’t reach Booking.com. She’d told us during a call earlier that week that she’d be delighted to welcome us, but never mentioned the cancellation. She didn’t call the day before either. It’s an intolerable lack of professionalism and respect for customers. If you want to host people, you have to treat them with respect, not steal from them. The disappointment is immense, and the lack of human values is shocking. One star was required, though none would better reflect how disappointed we are. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

The beds were comfortable, breakfast was delicious, and the hosts were really nice.
