Logis Belle Rive

Dinner was a real gastronomic treat, with local wines and food cooked by a talented chef. There’s a huge terrace for eating outdoors, and the Fortress on the hill is clearly visible, making for a nice walk. The location is superb, and you can even get here by train from Toulouse. It’s a lovely country hotel with comfortable rooms that cover what you need, plus extensive grounds and a swimming pool.

The riverside location is lovely, with an easy, pleasant walk up to Najac. The hotel restaurant serves local specialties and is good value. The owners and staff were very friendly and welcoming, and they even gave us generous free coffee on our last morning.

The food was great, but the hotel felt expensive for what you get, and the walk up to the town center is steep. What upset us most was how the owners responded when we told them we’d found bed bugs. They tried to say we had brought them in after going for a walk. We were extremely disappointed. We’d already paid the bill and only wanted to let them know, especially with the bed bug infestation in France right now.

We only ate at the restaurant, and the local dishes were tasty, with meals available for the kids too. The dinner was fine and very reasonably priced, and the staff were friendly. We asked for a table outside on the terrace overlooking the castle of Najac, and they also set up a table indoors in case it rained. We’ll certainly return.
