Exceptionnel Appartement Place Stanislas!

It's a lively, charming pedestrian square in the center of Nancy, with plenty of restaurants around it serving drinks and good food. The palace, architecture, sculptures, monument, and adjacent garden are excellent. A nice place to spend time with young kids and toddlers.

Come back after dark if you can. The lighting gives the architecture a much more dramatic feel. During the day, Place Stanislas is spacious and easy to walk around, with cafés where you can sit and watch people. The mood stays lively without getting hectic. Its symmetry, elegant façades, gilded gates and fountains are especially lovely in the late afternoon, when the gold catches the light. This is the one place in Nancy that really feels iconic.

We paid the most for a beer so far on our holiday, just a short walk from the square and right in the cathedral's shadow! The place is grand, as you'd expect, and very well kept.

Magical. The square and nearby garden had such a welcoming feel, and we spotted a dance floor behind a lovely cafe, right in the middle of the gardens. Locals of all ages were dancing to the music. I really loved the mix of French and Polish baroque.
