Hotel Stanley by HappyCulture

Typhaine greeted us warmly at reception, and the other staff we met were lovely and helpful too. Our room was comfortable and spotlessly clean. The hotel is a few minutes from the train station and well placed for the sights. It was exactly what we wanted for an overnight stay in Nancy. We'd happily recommend it.

Breakfast was so limited that we stopped having it after the first morning. Even scrambled eggs weren't an option. We also had staff knocking on our door every five minutes after 11 a.m., asking us to leave, despite having booked three nights. The hotel itself is very small, with creaky floors and a lift barely big enough for a travel stroller. The shower height couldn't be adjusted, and there was no soundproofing at all. We could hear every footstep in the corridor. The location is the only reason for the one star. The high ratings gave us the wrong impression, and we wouldn't stay here again.

Everyone I spoke to at reception was pleasant and helpful. Sabrina was especially kind and did everything she could to make my stay nicer, including helping me switch rooms. The location is great, too.

The rooms weren't clean, and the bathroom floor badly needed scrubbing. We ended up leaving before our planned stay was over. It was also hard to sleep. The old building carries every footstep and conversation from other guests, and the street noise comes right in through the windows. In summer, with no air conditioning, leaving them open made it really noisy. The fan in our room was broken, and when we complained, staff said there was nothing they could do. 0/5, wouldn't recommend.
