Hôtel Fôch Nancy Gare

It’s near the train, a small supermarket, and places to eat. The hotel is old and faded, but my renovated room matched the posted photo. Heavy curtains and double glazing helped keep out the city noise. There’s a 24-hour reception, breakfast starts at 5:30 am, and a Starbucks is in sight if you need one. A 24/24 restaurant nearby is an option if you want better food. The discounted price was okay value. The building is 90 years old, so expect some compromises, including elevator, stair, and plumbing noises. You might want to avoid it in extreme weather.

Hotel Foch really came through for me. On Christmas Eve, after 5 pm, I discovered a problem with my hotel booking and couldn’t check in. I had nowhere to go, and other hotels I tried didn’t have anyone at the counter. I was nearly in tears when Hotel Foch had a room available for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. I don’t speak any French, but they made me feel comfortable and welcome. The staff were super friendly and helpful, and the 24-hour counter service was wonderful. The single-person room was cozy and reasonably priced. It’s close to Nancy train station, with Carrefour Express a minute away and places nearby to get hot food. I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone needing a place to stay in Nancy.

Our family of four booked one night at hotel Fosch in Nancy, and it was a bad night. The suite was freezing and smelled strongly of cigarettes. The wc was filthy, with brown spots, and its flush didn’t work, so we couldn’t use the toilet at all. We had to go down to the ground floor to use a proper wc. It was incredibly frustrating for a family of four. I reported the problem at reception, but they only said they’d make a note of it. Nothing was done to fix it, and the staff were also very impolite. I don’t recommend this hotel. Look for somewhere better.
