La Vallee de la Sainte Baume

A peaceful place to stay, with lots of lovely towns and villages nearby. Great holiday setting.

We’ve stayed in three villas now, 10, 29, and 30, and each had its own good points. You can tell FranceComfort where you’d prefer to stay. The villas are luxurious, with well furnished rooms, fully equipped kitchens, and air conditioning in every bedroom. Some pools can be heated for 20 euros per day. It is quite expensive, but you do get what you pay for. The park is quiet. You can hear neighbors swimming or cutlery clattering at dinner time, but it never bothered us. There’s no loud music or shouting. Most guests seem to be Dutch, judging by the license plates. For supplies, the markets in Nans-les-Pins and St. Maximin cover what you need. Nans-les-Pins has three excellent bakeries, and its small supermarket is very good too. Hyper U in St. Maximin is fantastic, as is the nearby Marie Blachere bakery, especially for its fresh coconut cookies. We’ve met both the current and former managers, and all were equally friendly and helpful. We usually don’t return to the same place three times, but I think we’ll book a fourth visit ;-).
