Camping Le Roc Qui Parle

The pitches are roomy and set on terraces, so you get plenty of privacy, and dogs stay free. It’s also very affordable, perhaps the owners could charge a little more! The Dourbie runs along the campsite, and the owners make you feel at home straight away. It’s a good base for exploring the region’s medieval towns, gorges and causses. The facilities are old but clean and everything works. The reception is quite a way from the campsite itself. If peace and quiet are what you’re after, this is a great spot, and the owners are very friendly.

You can choose a pitch down by the river or up on a terrace, where there are views of the Causse and golden eagles. The pitches are a good size, and the whole terraced site is well looked after. It’s just up the road from Nant, with two impressive gorges nearby. The owners are very welcoming, and the facilities are clean.

There’s no nightly entertainment or aqua park here, which suited me just fine. I wanted peace, space and nature. The Dourbie runs below the terraced campsite and is a great trout river, with fly fishing and no-kill rules alongside the site; all types of fishing are allowed upstream and downstream. The spacious pitches have plenty of shade and privacy, and Nadege listened carefully to my booking request and found us a lovely one. Sebastien checks around the site often to make sure everything is all right. The washrooms are spotless, with plenty of hot water in the showers. The scenery is beautiful, and Nant is only two kilometres away, with a baker and a few small grocery shops.

The owner was so kind and helpful, thanks for that. There are lovely paths along the river that connect to some really nice villages. We’d love to come back and see more of this fascinating region. ❤️
