Aparthotel Adagio Nantes Centre

The staff were so friendly and went out of their way to look after guests. It’s a comfortable, convenient hotel, with free coffee in the lobby. Getting there with a suitcase is easy, just a short walk from the station and straight into the lobby. Nantes is a lovely, expressive city, full of culture and life. I was there for collaboration at a conference.

Michael, the night manager, gave us the most professional service. Our sofa bed hadn’t been prepared, but he sorted it out right away and made us feel well looked after. He was attentive, helpful, and professional throughout. The hotel is right by the station and the palace, and the rooms are spacious. Gracias Michael!

The kitchenette was well equipped, and there was a dining area that made the spacious room feel homey. Check-in was quick, and the location right beside the station worked perfectly for my late train arrival. I stayed two nights at Aparthotel Adagio Nantes Centre after finishing the Rochefort Chess Festival, stopping on my way to Mont Saint-Michel. I’d hoped to use the sauna on a cold night, but it closes at 10 PM and I arrived just after, so I missed it. The next day I rented a car to continue the trip. Parking is available, but you need to call reception and go around the back through the small alley shown in the photos. It cost about €20-25 per day, which seems fairly standard for city center stays in France. A practical, comfortable choice, especially for late arrivals and people passing through by road.

The price was good, and the location near the station and city centre was excellent. Staff were very friendly, and the rooms were a decent size and clean. Still, the place feels dated, with chips in the furniture, and could use renovation. The separate shower and bath were nice, though the shower leaked onto the floor. The layout was odd: the toilet is in its own section, while the sink is in the bathroom, so you have to walk through the kitchen and bedroom to wash your hands. The TV stand was a strange contraption that took up too much space. We moved the TV into the kitchen to clear the route between the toilet, bed, and bathroom, but then it blocked access to the fridge. The hallway smelled musty, and there was an unrepaired hole in the ceiling from a leak. For the price and location, our stay was okay.
