Hôtel Le Petit Duquesne

The facilities are basic, but the location is great, close to a good choice of restaurants and bars. The staff were really nice and accommodating.

The location is very convenient, but the room assignment and service were disappointing. The hotel operates from three different addresses with two receptions. Only one reception is open 24/7 and can store luggage, while the address listed on Booking.com has limited hours, which caused confusion. I booked a double bed and desk for two nights, but got two single beds and no desk. I had to work sitting on the floor and couldn't sleep well. The next morning I asked to move rooms and was told the right one would be ready by 13:30 at the other reception. I returned tired and needing to work, but still waited until 15:00. There was no apology or compensation. The location deserves better than the poor communication and lack of professionalism. I hope management improves how it handles room assignments and communication.

For a 1-star hotel, the cleanliness really impressed me. The room and all the indoor common areas were spotless and well looked after, beyond what I expected. Its central location was handy for a short stay, with everything I needed within easy walking distance. The downside was noise at night, which made it harder to sleep well. Even so, for the price and convenience, it's a solid value choice in the heart of Nantes.

It's not a grand Hotel, but I can't fault it. My single room has a really comfortable bed with snowy white linen, and everything is very clean. The shower is good, with plenty of hot water, and towels and WiFi are provided. The room faces the main street, but it's quiet. Just be aware there's a spiral staircase and no lift. The hotel's in the centre of town, with interesting shops and restaurants on the little streets only a minute's walk away. I'm more than happy here and will stay again next time I'm in Nantes.
