Hotel Saint Daniel

The apartment was ideally located and impeccably clean, but the poor soundproofing, with single glazing, made it impossible to sleep. People sleeping below the building talked and made noise for almost half the night, until 3 a.m. Then, at 4 a.m., a delivery truck parked there for an hour with its refrigerator running under the window. Opening the window was impossible because of the unbearable noise, and with the intense heat, proper air conditioning was essential. There was only a tiny fan and no air conditioning. The macerating toilet was extremely loud and couldn’t be used at night, which made things very difficult. The owner was also completely unreachable. I tried to contact him when I arrived and left my number clearly so he could call back, but he didn’t. The whole setup relies on machines and codes, with no human interaction. That felt very unprofessional and unpleasant as a guest. We had a sleepless night and had to cut our stay short. My advice to the owner: install double glazing and proper air conditioning to make the apartment livable. Even if the price had to go up a little, those improvements would be worth it.

The location is the one real plus here. The bathroom was clean and seemed recently renovated, but there was dust all over the room. With the street noise coming straight through the poor soundproofing, I couldn't sleep without earplugs. The reception area was being worked on, so there was no staff on site and no breakfast service.

I paid €67 a night for a place that felt like a ghost hotel. I found two different addresses and three phone numbers, but nobody picked up or replied to a message or email. I booked through Booking.com, and they gave me no response about what happened either. This looks like an organized scam. Avoid it.

The location was the only thing in its favor. The room was tiny, the outlets were nowhere near the beds, and the staircase was really uncomfortable to use. It's the dirtiest hotel I've ever stayed in.
