I rarely write a bad review and hate having to do it, but during my recent stay I accidentally dropped my car key into the gap by the elevator. Silly me. Retrieving it cost me 260 euros. There were also people at reception who seemed heavily under the influence of drugs, causing trouble and begging.

I rented a small apartment for two nights. It was clean and functional, with everything I needed. Nothing luxurious, but fine for a stay. There aren’t many places to eat nearby. In the evening, a little trailer right outside sold prepared food, from panini and homemade pasta to salad and even tiramissu, which saved me. In the morning there’s a nice cafe that isn’t on Google Maps, plus a small pizza place across the street.

The studio had what I needed and the staff were friendly, so there’s potential here. But I waited 25 minutes for the keys, there was almost no toilet paper, the sheets and pillows smelled, and the shower head was broken.

It’s basically like renting a room, and I personally liked it. My En Suite' had its own bathroom, kitchen and TV, plus enough drawer and wardrobe space. The residence’s amenities made it a good fit for someone coming to a conference, especially since Polytec Nantes campus is an easy walk away. Room service was really good, and reception didn’t keep calling or bothering me. It’s quite far from the city centre, so you’d need to take the C6 bus, and a cab to Nantes Atlantique Airport would cost over 40 euro.
