DEMAIN Hôtel & Conciergerie

This hotel was great value and right in the centre. The staff were amazing, the rooms clean, and the beds extremely comfortable. WiFi was strong, and I appreciated having charging points right beside the bed. I’d recommend staying here, though some of the smaller rooms could be a challenge for two people.

A calm, sweet little hotel with friendly staff and small rooms that are organised well. We paid extra, but didn’t get quite the right room, and there was no hot water that morning. When we asked for the price difference back, they refused.

The location is excellent, on a quiet street close to Nantes’s attractions and its beautiful Christmas market. The staff were all friendly and helpful, and breakfast had an excellent range of high-quality local products that I really enjoyed trying. I had a great time at Demain and would happily return, despite a few snags. My room wasn’t ready at check-in, so I waited another half hour. It was on the top floor of the annex, 30 seconds from the hotel, and had a skylight but no window. The room and bathroom were small, with limited storage. There was a large TV on the wall with, quite reasonably, only French channels. The radiator sounded like a stream when running, and shower temperature kept changing. You enter the annex using a code, but it changes on Monday, so I got locked out and had to ask reception for the new one. The bed was very comfortable and the towels were good quality.

For a two-star eco-hotel, the location is incredibly handy, close to restaurants, shops, the tram and the train. I used it for a four-hour rest while waiting for a late-night flight, and €55 felt worth it. The basics were all there, and the staff were friendly, helpful, polite and spoke several languages. The only catch was no air conditioning, because it’s an eco hotel. I wouldn’t choose it when it’s really warm outside.
