Radisson Blu Hotel Nantes

A lovely building, with lots of space in the rooms. Everything was very clean.

The rooms feel a bit dated, and the hotel is being renovated. It also doesn’t have a gym. I expect those issues may be sorted once the work is finished, and I’d still stay here again when I’m back in Nantes. I was here for five days for a conference. The hotel was very busy, so as a Radisson VIP we couldn’t get an upgrade. The front desk staff made up for that with how welcoming and friendly they were. That stood out even more after we were treated rudely at another Radisson hotel, Park Plaza Victoria Amsterdam.

The location is excellent, right in the city centre, and the building looks beautiful both inside and out. The rooms could use a refresh, though. The furniture is damaged and looks worn. There’s no gym or any kind of activity for a four-star hotel. Parking is in a paid garage a short walk away.

The call that was actually meant for us came through automatically at 7 in the morning. Earlier, around 3 or 4 am, someone called our tour group at the wrong time. We had booked about 10 rooms, and all of us got those early calls from a real person, in French and English. They gave the wrong departure time and wouldn’t hang up until I answered. I don’t know why that happened, but I expected better. The hotel said it might be connected to the maintenance work going on. The lobby was very dim. Our room was clean but old, and the rug was full of dust. My allergies flared up as soon as we went in. It was the worst night’s sleep.
