The highlight of the week was Raphael’s foie gras, easily the best we tried. Patrick and Raphael were generous hosts too, with thoughtful suggestions for restaurants and things to do. We shared meals and breakfast with Suzie & Martin, who were lovely fellow guests. Domaine de la Brugère has a beautiful natural garden and some remarkable trees, which Patrick is happy to tell you about. The 19th-century house is just as lovely, and so well kept it felt like a privilege to stay there. Having only a limited number of couples at a time gives the place a distinctive, intimate feel.

Three nights went by too quickly. We spent time unwinding in the garden, by the pool, and out on the terrace, and used Patrick and Rapheal’s suggestions to explore the region. They were warm, kind hosts who went out of their way to make the stay special. We also loved the room’s design and the shared spaces, especially the living room, dining room, and entrance hall. Dinner cooked by Rapheal was delicious. Everything felt just right, and we wished we could have stayed longer.

We’re already looking forward to coming back. My wife and I had three nights of being wonderfully spoilt, in a lovely home with owners who were so kind and friendly. The whole stay was outstanding.

We loved the whole stay, especially the anniversary meal Raphael prepared for us. Patrick and Raphael were superb hosts and made sure we felt relaxed and happy. Suite 21 was lovely, including its decorated salle de bain, and the Domaine itself was fabulous.
