The beds were clean and comfortable, and the rooms are large, though they don’t feel especially homely. It’s a quiet spot, but not all that far from a major road. The other guests were quiet during our stay, though sound carries easily through the building, so it could be an issue if you’re unlucky. It seems there’s no staff on hand at night, and guests can come and go with keyed access. There’s no restaurant and no food is prepared on site. Breakfast is brought in, basically croissants, hot water, cheese, cold meats, and baguette. There was no fresh fruit or yoghurt, which disappointed me. If bread and cheese are enough for breakfast, you’ll probably find the stay excellent. The place is basically OK, but lacks the refinement you might expect. Our bath wasn’t clean, and the tiles in the bath and shower area hadn’t been cleaned to a polish. It could be better.

The breakfast was a letdown: no baguettes or croissants, and the other options seemed aimed at people in a rush. The bathroom also wasn't in a condition I found acceptable. The toilet brush, like the ones in the photos, made it seem as if time or money had been cut on service, cleanliness, or amenities. The setting is lovely, with peaceful surroundings, spacious rooms, attractive grounds, and a friendly welcome at reception. The price seems fair. The room is large but quite plush, which isn't really to my taste. It's also hard to make it dark, since one curtain is missing or the remaining one is too small. For just one night, I'd pick a modern hotel. But if you enjoy the charm of old France and don't care much about breakfast, this place could suit you.
