We only stayed one night. Check-in and service were quick and straightforward, but the room was a problem. The window wouldn’t shut, so motorway noise kept us awake, and there was no hot water. I also suspect the hotel had bedbugs because my legs were covered in bites.

The staff were lovely, but the room was a different story. The pillows felt like empty cases, and the bed was as uncomfortable as a bus stop bench. The shower holder was broken, the head sprayed everywhere, and the stall was so small the curtain kept sticking to me. Water ended up across the bathroom floor. With no air circulation apart from the window, hot weather means choosing between sweating in the room or letting mosquitoes in. I wasn’t expecting luxury for the price, just a shower that worked. Cheap shouldn’t mean everything is falling apart.

For £35 a night, or £140 for four nights, it was fine. I was in the area for a wedding, and the hotel gave me the basic place to sleep I needed. It’s not somewhere I’d pick for a romantic break, but at that price it did the job.

I only needed somewhere to sleep near the highway, so the location worked for me. It wouldn’t be good if you wanted to explore the area. The room itself was okay, but neither the toilet nor the bed was clean. Having to check in and pay at an outside machine felt a bit uncomfortable.
