Hotel ibis Nemours

We had a clean, tidy room, and the private parking felt secure. It’s also a good spot, not far from the city center. But sound carries badly: we heard several bangs from upstairs, along with people walking and talking in the hallway at 3 or 4 am.

What bothered me most was how dismissive the staff were when I called about a booking I’d made by mistake. I politely asked the day before whether it could be canceled, but the person at the front desk sounded impatient. When I called again the next morning, it was the same person, who suddenly said they couldn’t speak English. It felt like they thought I wouldn’t notice. Whether I get a refund isn’t the main thing. I wanted someone to handle the problem with a decent attitude, and that was completely missing. They seemed interested only in brushing customers off.

A quiet, pleasant place to stay while visiting the sights around Paris, without having to deal with the bustle of the city itself.

The bathroom was freezing, with no heat, and the room itself was cold too. The thermostat was a joke: you could set it to 35°C and nothing changed. The room smelled bad, probably because a smoker had used it. There wasn’t a kettle or coffee machine, and there are no restaurants nearby or on site. The location is terrible. For the price, around 60€ would make more sense. I’d call it a one-star place, not a three-star hotel; it should be listed as an Ibis budget at best, and some of those are better.
