Our top-floor room was small, as expected, but clean and comfortable. The shower was tiny, though it was fine for us since we're petite; bigger people might find it tricky. We really enjoyed the hotel's character and charm. The shared area was a lovely spot for a drink, a rest or a game of chess, and the cat would wander in now and then. There was also an outdoor seating area with tables and chairs where we could have breakfast. The commune was lovely too. We'll miss this place.

Our room was an experience, with fabric walls and original bottle end windows, and it was clean and well presented. The lobby was lovely, and we spent time playing chess and eating chocolates from the markets. The hotel is dog friendly for £10 per night. There is hotel parking, but it was full, so we left the car in a nearby free car park. On Friday, the market meant it got towed. The owner's son was a huge help, and the hotel kindly drove us to the impound so we could collect it. We had a wonderful night here. Wake up in the middle of a fairy tale village.

We loved this place. It's a beautiful, peaceful little town, and the hotel has a cool character and an interesting look. We expected the cheapest room to be small, and it was. The bathroom was tiny too, and the shower could be hard for bigger people. Apart from that, everything was beautiful and great.

The breakfast was outstanding, fresh and generous, served in one of the most charming dining rooms we've come across on our travels. We also loved spending evenings in the lounge with local wine and a delicious platter, surrounded by the hotel's warm, old-world feel. The staff were genuinely kind and attentive from the moment we arrived, and it felt like the place was run with care. From the historic interiors to the cozy shared spaces, every detail seemed thoughtfully considered. We'd recommend it to anyone visiting the region. It's a place that stays with you.

We used the hotel as a base for a couple of nights while visiting nearby towns. The rooms were clean and nicely decorated, the hotel is beautiful, and the daytime staff were wonderful and friendly. Breakfast was proper, with amazing pies, and there was free parking on the streets. One thing to know: the older section has no elevator. The hotel doesn't serve dinner either, so check nearby restaurants' opening times.
