The reception staff were wonderful, and it’s an easy walk to historic sites. The town is lovely and the residents welcoming. Our spacious, clean room was well serviced, with luxurious beds and linen. Breakfast and dinner were delicious.

I got in late and left early the next morning, so I didn’t get to spend time in Nevers itself. The breakfast room downstairs, though, is extremely charming, set in a grotto. As usual with Best Western, the staff were very accommodating.

There’s no air conditioning, but the hotel stays comfortably cool. We could secure our bikes in the private, locked parking garage. I fell ill during our stay, and the staff were very kind and arranged for us to keep the room an extra night.

The parking lot looked almost empty, but reception said they were fully booked. Lazy guys.
