De Verdun

We had loads of room, and everything was clean and comfortable, including the big bathroom. We’re travelling by bike, and the staff were lovely from the moment we arrived. They let us leave our bikes in a little garden inside the hotel. The location was great too, with everything close enough to reach on foot.

A nice little patio with a table and chairs was a welcome extra. The place was clean, quiet, and right in the centre. The host was really helpful, and it was great value for the money. I’d happily come back.

The room was cute and clean, and the bathroom was especially spotless and modern. There’s a little courtyard where you can sit outside, and some lovely cats keeping an eye on you from a distance. The hotel is near everything, with a park across the street and a cafe next door. Carrefour City is about five minutes away for groceries and basics, plus there’s lots of wine to choose from. I’ll stay again when I’m next in Nevers.

After seven hours cycling in the sun, I didn’t want to spend another two hours waiting in the street for the place to open. It’s meant to be cyclist friendly, which made that especially frustrating. The exterior looked dirty, so I cancelled and lost my payment. I found another place just around the corner that was open and much nicer.
