Résidence Suiteasy Nevers

I won’t set foot in this place again. The rooms are dated and need renovation, and there’s no air conditioning. Outside, the area is very busy and noisy, and the windows do little to block it out. The residents were noisy too, talking in the hallways late into the night. The residence is right on the banks of the Loire River.

The upstairs bedroom was spacious and the sheets were clean, but there’s no soundproofing. Saturday night was noisy enough that it felt like sleeping on the street, and the dirty windows didn’t help. The kitchenette and refrigerator were handy, though I missed having a coffee maker 😉. The bathroom is small but works fine. We were two adults and two children in the apartment, but the table only seats two and has two stools. Once the sofa bed is open, there’s no room to move around in the main room, so it’s really only good for sleeping. The phone reception was pleasant, and while there’s no reception desk, the instructions for finding the apartment were clear. At €90 a night, being woken three times was rough, then the church bells rang at 8 a.m. I’d normally find that charming, but it was a short night 😅.

Everyone we met on staff was extremely pleasant, which really matters for a good stay. The area is quiet, though it’s a 15-minute walk from the train station. The rooms are comfortable, but the bathroom needs renovation. A coffee maker would be a welcome addition.

Booking was easy, and we got the key on arrival. They recommend bringing ID. The studio is small, but the kitchen is well equipped and the bathroom is very nice. Not every unit has a terrace, so keep that in mind. It’s close to the train station and well located near the Loire bridge, with a bus stop right outside for one direction. Breakfast is served at set times. We had a very pleasant stay, and it was quiet and well insulated.
