Camping Le Raguenes Plage

The beach was the reason we'd stay again, just a lovely 10-15 minute walk from our good pitch. We were there just after high season, so the shop and local options weren't open. Toilets and showers were adequate. The lady at reception was very unhelpful.

I spent six nights in a static caravan and would happily come back. The place is ideally set close to the beach, in a really beautiful location. My caravan was clean and tidy, and the staff were very helpful. When I reported that the toilet was faulty, it was fixed within five minutes.

The coastline is a huge draw here, with fantastic access to a beautiful stretch of shore and a pristine beach. Raguénez Plage is well kept, and the staff are friendly, efficient, professional, and knowledgeable. It's larger than it first appears, with enough privacy on most pitches. There are different camping options, including permanent and static units for rent. Every pitch has water and electricity, which is included whether you need it or not. For families, there's a lot close to the entrance: three pools, trampolines, a sports court, a tiny convenience shop, and a small restaurant. The entertainment area and main wash block are nearby, with another wash block a little farther in. As far as we could tell, the toilets only had a Western-style setup, with no facilities for other cultures. Staff clean them regularly, though some visitors and children don't seem considerate of others using the facilities or sharing the space. Be prepared for noise from the pool and entertainment area all day and until 11 pm if your pitch is within earshot. Overlanders and other self-sufficient campers may find the noise and light pollution a lot. It can be useful for a break to recharge vehicle batteries, refill water, use the laundry machines, or take a hot shower, if hot water is still available after the crowds. There's room for Raguénez Plage to improve its environmental practices. WiFi also becomes unusable when the site is busy, as too many people are online at once and the network can't handle it. It's not a bad place, but it could use eco-friendly upgrades.

We had a large enough pitch, though turning our caravan or camper around was tricky. The sanitary facilities are a bit dated, but clean and maintained. There's a camp shop with delicious croissants, and beautiful beaches are an easy walk away. Plenty of places to visit and things to do nearby, and the facilities are good.
