Abbaye de Roseland

We rented Liliane’s apartment at 44 blvd Napoleon III, Immeuble Carina 4, Nice, Provence-Alpes, France for 5.5 weeks in February and March 2023. After two days, the place and its location were so unsatisfactory that we contacted AirBnB and were released from our contract. The location description was misleading and totally inappropriate for active seniors. Although described as a 15-minute walk to the Promenade des Anglais, it was a 3KM drive down a very steep hill. The garage was too small for any vehicle larger than a Smart Car or Fiat 500, and street parking was not readily available. Maintenance was lacking inside as well. Only two of the four cooktop burners worked, and the wall behind them had congealed fat on it. Drawers and cupboards had dirty cutlery and utensils. The shower stall hadn’t been cleaned, there was hair on the walls, the shower head sprayed water at the wall instead of a person, and the vanity was full of other people’s toiletries. The bedding appeared unwashed, with hair or fur on two pillowcases. We got insect bites on the first night that still hadn’t healed after two weeks. The headboard on one bed was coming away from the side panels. We have pictures to support everything above.

All the buildings have beautiful views.

You have to take the car even just to get bread, which is the one downside. The view is absolutely breathtaking!!!!!

Huge apartment buildings surround the place, and it’s impossible to get there.
