Apartment Massena

Our stay was good, and the room itself was beautiful, spacious and very clean. It had a large shower and bath, and the location is handy for tourists. Since it faces the main square, though, it can get noisy with the window open. This isn’t the place I’d choose for a neighbourhood feel. The staff were nice but not especially friendly or proactive, and we only spoke with them at check-in and check-out. They let us leave our bags on our last day because our flight was late, but the bags were left in the lobby. We kept our valuables with us and were fine, though reports from other guests about money being stolen made me wary of the security. I’m basing this on my own experience, which was good. Next time I’m in Nice, I’d choose a more homely Airbnb or a hotel with better service.

The staff who run the hotel's day-to-day operations are from Poland, and things were clean, punctual and as promised. It’s right in front of Nice’s biggest and busiest square, so the location is excellent.

We were told about this hotel by someone else, and it made our first trip to Nice that much better. You can head straight into the old town or cross the road to reach the beach. Service was great and the location was excellent. I’m looking forward to staying here again when I return.

For the price, this was an average hotel. The rooms were generally clean and comfortable, and there’s plenty to do nearby, so I’m surprised earlier visitors rated it so highly. The service was poor, though, and staff weren’t willing to help. There were also some strange people around the neighbourhood in the evenings. The main entrance door being left open all the time is a serious problem. Nothing special, 2/5.
