Villa Berlioz

The location was excellent, handy for both the train station and tram. My wife and I spent five nights here and found it modern and excellent value. The staff were brilliant and created a real family atmosphere. The rooms were clean, cleaned every day, and the towels were changed. Breakfast suited this hotel category. I can recommend it to anyone!

The apartment itself was clean and had plenty of amenities. The rest of the experience, especially the location and arrival, was poor. We booked because the map showed a spot near the train station, which mattered since we planned to take trains to places like menton and monaco. A few days before arrival, the host told us that because our room type was an apartment, it was another 9-10mins walk from the location shown. That was a horrible surprise. We reached the front door at 15:43, but no one was at reception. After waiting 10-15 mins, a couple leaving unlocked the door for us. We had no way to contact the staff other than calling with our Hong Kong data roaming plan. The staff finally arrived around 20 minutes after we did. Once we got the key and made our way to the farther location, the key only said flat A, with no floor listed. We tried it door by door from the top down, like thieves. It was embarrassing. For the location and staff, it didn't feel worth the extra price for being advertised as near the train station. It felt a bit like a scam.

The room was huge compared with the other places we saw in French villages, and the price felt like a steal. We stayed two nights and found everything delightful, clean, and easy to reach for our holiday plans. The hotel is right near the train station and a few blocks from lots of food places. We skipped breakfast because we prefer to go out, though it seemed popular. The front desk guy was really friendly and always around, unlike at hotels where you’re left on your own. I’d definitely stay again!!!

I mainly chose this place because I had lots of train trips planned around Cote D’Azur, and it’s right by the station. The old town is a bit farther away, but still walkable, so it wasn’t a big deal. The room was basic and on the small side, but had a TV, fridge, and everything I needed. Entry was by code, so there was no key to carry. I barely interacted with staff, but everyone was pleasant. It got a little noisy because my room was one floor up on a busy road with plenty of cars passing. The bed wasn’t especially comfortable either. Still, it was affordable and did the job as somewhere to sleep.
